OK, I found it! Corvette Central has a kit offered for '80-'82 Corvettes, resulting in automatic daytime running lights! It's under kit # 493114, in the ('00) catalog costs $189.00. Text as follows: "When the ignition switch is activated, both front turn signal lights come on. When a turn signal is activated, that side flashes normally at front and rear. The other front turn signal light remains lit continuously. When the headlights or parking lights are switched on, the system reverts to normal-just like C5 Corvettes! Installation is completely plug-in! There is absolutely no cutting or splicing of the car's wires. Installation takes approx 1 hour, requires few tools, features many GM parts, and is designed to look like it belongs in the car" Has anybody tried this kit?
I also like the looks of daytime running lights. although kentucky doesn't require you have them, i'd like to put some on my 81. i would just run the parking lights all the time, but i don't want the taillights to come on too. that would be a dead give away that I had your parking lights on, and people would be wandering why I had my parking lights on in the middle of the day  was daytime running lights original equipment for canadian delivered c3's?
