Where can I get the clear hose to attach to the bleaders on my calipers. I had the wife buy some fish tank hose but it's too small? Size? Place to buy?
Thanks..
Get a MiteVac Kit, It makes bleeding brakes a one man (person) job. And comes with adapters for different size bleeders.
But if you still need tubing, Home Depot or Lowe's should have all sizes and I think 1/4" will do since you need a 5/16" flarenut wrench for the bleeder.
Then manuals state to bleed the RR in, RR out, LR in, LR out, LF, RF but I've found RF, LF, LR in, LR out, RR in, RR out works just as well. And usally I have to go around the car 2-3 times and a quart or more of fluid to get a fim high pedal that I like. (The lines get flushed at the same time).
if you want to do it on the cheap just use regular vacuum hose. Connect one end to the caliper to be bled the other end to a container ( you will have to make the container up with the fittings) then on the other side of the container connect the other hose to the container then connect the other end of that hose to a engine vacuum. Crack the bleed, start the car up and watch the jar fill up with brake fluid let it run until you think all of the air is out then close the bleed. you are done!
