Using PPG products, how much paint and materials would I need to do a vert?
I'm a long way away from painting, still have to start sanding the orignal primer smooth, and do some glass repair. I may give shooting it a shot but don't know quanities I would need? Also need part numbers, was told to use K36 as the primer/sealer over the sanded glass. What about color matching the Lemans blue?
Thanks guys,
Gary
Re: How much paint,clear, primer,etc do I need (gtr1999)
Depending on how much work you expect to finish her flat and smooth, Id get:
1 ga of DP40
1 ga of K36
2 qts base-more if it's metallic. Risking another mix isn't worth it IMO
1 ga of clear
If your new to painting, having more on the shelf will make life easier. I'm just not one to nickle and dime the paint after all of the work put into prepping the car.

Thanks guys,
Cory,
Where did you buy your supplies? I know there's Int Coatings in Wlfd or Paint World in New Haven. I haven't talked to a supplier yet to see what the cost of the materials will be.

Gary,
I bought all my PPG material at Service Auto in Ansonia. The fellow that handles all the paint there is very helpfull and will set you up with the right quantities. I sealed the glass with DP40 epoxy sealer and then covered that with K36 primer/surfacer. You will probably spray K36 twice. When you sand you may break thru in a couple area's trying to get everything flat.
Don't forget that I have a HVLP spraygun that you are welcome to use.
