This person is attempting to set up a 1979 registry. I have made a few comments. Give him a hand :) . The much maligned 1979 does have a place in C3 history. Let's give it a historical record. Mine was built in November of 1978: almost 25 years ago. Time does fly....
Words of advice - it takes about 1000 times more work than you thought when you started it. Personally I prefer to have everyone send me the data, I review it and check it for accuracy, go back & forth a few times filling in the missing stuff and fixing the erroneous info, and then I put it on the website. It's amazing how many typos you can find that way. The automated software where people mantain their own info leaves a lot to be desired in terms of technical accuracy, if that's your goal. Get an avatar setup early on so folks can use it posting here. That's some of the best advertising I've found. :D Have fun! ~Juliet
My advise would be, set it up as a server side appliaction that runs off a database w/ administration tools (or asp under IIS with an Access Db that you can edit in MS access)
That way it's much easier to display the info and you won't have to write new peices of HTML code for every entry (VERY boring)
Thanks Paul for starting this topic, I've already received few very informative email from you guys and looks like we should have everything ready for the Grand Opening next weekend!

When I sent away to GM of Canada for documentation on my 79 I received a booklet with specs on the 79 Corvette. Here's is some info that you should update on your site.
Compression ratio for the L48 was 8.2 to 1 and for L82 was 8.9 to 1.
Torque for the L48 was 285 @3200 rpm and the L82 was 270 @ 3600.
Also, I have the Car & Driver test from Dec 78. They tested a 79 L82 and achieved 1/4 mile time of 15.3 sec @ 95 mph and a top speed of 127 mph. The rear grear ratio was 3.70 to 1. Braking was 70 to 0 mph in 198 ft.

She's right! Take it from me... my site takes me at least 1 hour per day of administration. I am, however, registering ALL C3s. At least you're only focusing on 1 year!
