Default Temp sensor for spal fans

I thought I would just put the temp sensor in the hole in my thermostat housing. The directions with my fans say to put the sensor in the "cylinder head of the engine". Does anyone know exactly where that is? I looked at my heads the best I could, but did not find any place that the sensor could fit into (I have stock heads). Where did you put your sensor?

If you have a port in the thermostat housing put it there. Thats the best place in my opinion since its a mix of the water comming from both heads. Youll be taking the reading just before the water returns to the rad. Ive heard of others having problems with sensor in head. Naturally, temps are higher in the head and the fan may run too much or constantly. plus yur taking the temp of the head on one side. The therm housing is a better average of the water comming out of the engine.
