I got a rough estimate on my cars wieght at the local garbage dump. She told me it said 3880 with a 230 lb passanger and 160 lb me. So I just estimated mine around 3500 lbs. I read somewhere that the stock wieght on a 77 was 3600 if i remember right so not sure how I lost the wieght but the previous owner(s) musta done something to it. I figure yours is decently close to mine because there almost the same. 76 to 77E
I've been told that for about 90% of the time, for every 100 lbs eliminated your 1/4 mile speed decreases roughly 1/10 a sec.
The curb weight for a '76 is 3,571. But that is without any options. Curb weight is with a full tank of gas. Then you need to add whatever the options weigh; do not know for '76 but here are some weights for a '73: A/C = 80#, power windows = 7#, power brakes = 10#, power steering = 26#, automatic = 54# over the base 4-speed. Then the weight of stereo and speakers/amps, and any other add on.
