CLUNK SOUND IN REAR END
I posted time agoo that i had a ticking noise in my engine, the result of it was a total engine rebuild an more than 8000 dollars to solve the problem. Now That i have a new engine , i'm having a strong clunk noise in my rear end ant very low speeds , next to stop the car and turning. will the noise apear, it also seems that the car shakes.I have to say that i think i have to rebuld all rear end of the car, as less all bushings.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I was experiencing the same symptoms. Car would sort of shudder around turns when I accelerated hard, clunking at 1-5 mph (I thought it was u-joints).
I did what all the pro's here said to do: change the differential fluid and put a bottle of GM limited slip posi additive in. I bought mine from a GM dealer for just under $8.00 US. I already had some 80-90W gear oil. If you do it yourself, find a pump ( I used an Attwood pump for changing oil in marine engines) and suck out the old fluid. You can use the same pump to install the new fluid. I found taking the spare tire carrier out made it much easier. It was easy to get out, only 4 bolts.
Then once the fluid is changed, find a spot to do some low speed figure eights. That should get the new fluid and additive in right places in the differential.

"Talked to my father-in-law who owns a tranny shop and he says it sounds like the CV joints. I am going to take in for him to look at and report back."
The CV joints? :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
