Default Oil Pressure Guage Problem

All of a sudden my oil gauge seems to be stuck at just under 35 psi. It does go back almost to zero when the motor is shut down. When I fire it up it comes up to just under 35 psi. It used to be close to 70 when cold. It is not varying at all which leads me to believe it is stuck or some gunk is in the mechanism. Any body have any luck cleaning one of these gauges. I'm sure I will have to remove it and clean it if this will work.

Mine had green corrosion growing on some components, which I fixed by WD and working it back and forth a 100 times.

Gordon,
I had the oil gauge die one day, no reading at all. After confirming the oil pump was good by installing a good gauge att he block I pulled the gauge out of the dash. I found the foam strips on the back on the gauge at jammed against the tube. I regluded the strips in place and it has worked since. That was about 5 years ago.
