Corvette Central sells repair kits for the fiber optics. Just rebuilt mine. Now they all work. Remove the headlamps and tail light lenses. Make sure the optics are in place and picking up the lights source from the bulbs. Use a semi gloss paint on the console.
Krylon semi gloss black works good for the bezel. Just paint the whole thing, and when it's dry, take a rag with some lacquer thinner and wipe off the raised parts to remove the paint. One thing to look for in the fiber optics is that all the cables are connected at the other end. Sometimes they can fall out of their lenses at the headlight, taillight or parking lamp. Also sometimes during repaints people accidentally paint over the lenses because they don't realize that they are there.
I purchased the paint from Corvette Central for my 71 and just received it. I haven't sprayed mine yet. I figure if they have specific paint for the bezel it should be correct.
My fiber optics all work. It is really a simple system. Make sure that in the all the exterior light bezels that everything is clean to get a strong light into the interior fiber optic system.
