So in my shopping for a C3 i have seen two types of engines in a mid to late 70's vette the L48 and the L82. Now i don't have all that much experiance with Carb'ed cars. So what type of performance mods can you do to these cars?
Carbed engines are easier to modify than injected ones. Both the L82 and L48 can be very extensively modified without much "collateral work." The L82 has a stronger bottom end, and starts with a pretty good cam (probably don't have to change it).
All of the cars with catalytic converters and 2->1->2 pipes (75-82) can be most improved just with exhaust work. Its much more restrictive than in other cars.
Possiblities are endless, but the amount of work you do to them depends on how much you are willing to spend. I'd suggest cam, heads, intake, desmog the engine, headers, true dual exhaust if it doesn't already have it.. Etc
