Default Color Decision: I'm Torn!

After talking to my painter, he has convinced me that "Steel Cities Gray" would look better than the original Mille Miglia Red I has decided on for the 72. So I thought I'd leave it up to you guys. I do love SCGray...and the rest of the car is as far from original as you can get. SO.....Cast your vote my friends!!!

Fast eddie....Paint it the color YOU want......If you like that color then your decison is made. Who cares what the car was originally unless you are NCRS bound....which it sounds like you are not   :seeya

I vote for Mille Miglia Red, unless he's going give you one big discount for the other color.

I like Steel Cities Grey... My dad had a '72 about 10 years ago that looked really good.

I just had my 78 painted SSG and it looks really nice. I'm like you,
mine is not now or never will be "original" and with SSG you won't
meet yourself coming down the road very often!

Spiral grey metallic on the new c5s would look sharp too. Do a search for the color on the c5 section for a look.

At the end of the day, paint it the color you like the most.

But if you plan to sell the car, black and red will sell better (and for a little higher value...they don't call it "resale red" for nothing.)

Gray is a very pretty color for the C3, and not a color you see on the streets much (most have been repainted.) Red is good if you like the "Little Red Corvette" image. Black looks downright mean (and I'm not a big fan of black cars, but my '69 is just mean looking!) The blue colors are kind of like gray, some like them, some don't. (I like both Light and midnight blue on the C3.) Green, Orange, WB Yellow are colors that usually get repainted because they have limited appeal (but for those original color cars, I think they're great!) Bright Yellow is popular but loud!

Mine (as it turns out from looking at the trim tag) was originally Orange and repainted a decent shade of 'vette Red ... I almost went for a '72 SSG 'vert that sold too fast on eBay. Either color sets off all the curves ... you can't lose either way but for eventual resale go with red. If you want more of a "stealth" look go with SSG :chevy
