I used to run my 35 MAX PSI tires at about 32 all around. They seemed to wear nice & even.
After a post here (quite a while ago), I decided I would get closer to the recommended pressure on the door sticker, but I couldn't quite go with 20F/26R, so I'm running 24F/28R right now. I don't really notice much difference in performance or ride comfort and they seem to be wearing fine.
I've never tried it myself, but I've seen a couple of videos on finding the "correct" tire pressure by marking the tire with chalk where the sidewall meets the tread and driving the car through turns (like a slalom). Whatever inflation keeps from wearing the chalk off of the sidewall is best for traction: I think. There are some AutoX people here that should be able to confirm/rufute/expand-on this idea more.
well, i recomend you never run your car under 30 psi. the lower the presser the hotter the tires will get and then some day----BOOM and you reck your vette. GM as a rule has always used 35psi in the eightys for my 81vette and my 86 camaro. in the nintys most GM cars used 32psi. i run my vette at 32 just becuse at 35 it seems to wear the middle of the tire out faster, so the 32 counters that a little. so to sum it all up, if i was you, go with 32f/32r hope this helps. :steering:
