Default Site with Torque specs

I have two books that list torque specs. The 1980 Service Manual and the Haynes manual. The universal strap clamps are listed at 15lbs in one book and 35lbs in the other? The tie rod differential bracket says 35lbs in one book and 60lbs in the other. Is there a place that lists what's correct?

I'm not a torque wrench every bolt kind of guy,but I would go to a local machine shop and ask the oldest guy there what the specs should be. Most bolts have markings on the head indicating the grade of steel they're made of. This and the size of the bolts stock will determine the max torque the bolt can handle.
With the exception of bearings and head bolts,I'd crank down on it till you feel it's tight.Just use a wrench. Ever wonder why small wrenches have shorter handles than big wrenches?

I'm not worried about the bolt snapping.. I'm worried about...uh... I don't know what I'm worried about.. I'm putting things back together and the book gives torque specs so why not follow them. When one book is 20lbs different than another it got me wondering..

That's basically what I did. The rear drive shaft universal straps are tough to get to with open wrenches. I could have used a 3/8 drive socket but my 1/4 drive set was closer by so I used them with a long extention. I put a little blue locktight on the bolts and then snugged them up.. I don't believe they are going anywhere BUT putting the right amount of torque, whatever that is, wouldn't hurt either..
