Default Need help with vacuum leak

I hear a vacuum hiss in the interior of my 69 no AC convertible. I think I have traced it to the valve in the dash just to the right of the drivers knee. What valve is this and is it hard to remove and replace? I have all the manuals and parts books but this valve seems to be hard to identify.

Not sure about a '69, but my '80 has one similarly located. It's an emergency actuator, designed to pop the headlights up.

You should have 2 small black push-pull valves right under the dash below the steering colum. Very easy to change and still avaliable from GM. Now if it's the round gold cad plated valve behind the tach, you have a little more trouble. This little sucker, it controls the wiper door, is hard to get out and hard $$$ to find. Let me know what you find. Thad

I think thats for your wiper door -- the one behind the lower dash pad in the lower right-hand corner.

This valve is located more near the console (to the right side of drivers knee). It is located just above the small removable panel on the left side of the console/center dash. I felt like it is related to the heat/vent system.
