Default Carb Jetting for 69

First thing I would like to say is that this forum is great. I have only had my vette for a little over a year and it was a purchase/inheritance so I know very little to nothing about vettes. After reading many of these forums I have learned more in a few hours then I have just tinkering on the car.

I am still figuring out the set up of my 69 Stingray convertable. I beleive what I have is a combination of the Z03 trany and rear gears with the L46 motor.
When I received the car the intake and carb have been changed to a Holey 600 vacum secondaries and a Edelbroke intake.

I have not come accross a Holley 650 manual secondaries. What jets are best to put in this carb for the L46 motor? I know very little about carbs so any additional help is welcomed.

On top of this I have looked into an MSDS system but the cash is not looking good to do this yet. I see all sorts of Distributer cap w/ Super coils that are to give a higher spark/more power, do these help or just gimicks?

Start with the original configuration listed above. Then step us 2 jet sizes at a time to fine tune. I am running a 650 DP and am using 71 primary jets. 69s did not provide enough fuel in my application.

I will start off as suggested.
Unfortunatly in WI we just had some snow so the roads are full of salt yet. :mad
It will be a couple weeks before I can get the new carb on.

I will keep you posted.

thanks again

with a small CFM carb the air flow thru the carb is the limit the carb will flow no matter what size engine it is on and any time you need more than + 2 sizes on the jets from stock i would be suspect of the fuel supply. :chevy

Am I doing a good thing by going to the Holly 650 and keeping the Edelbrook intake or should I go to the original intake and Quadrojet carb?

Looking for best perfomance and power.. I do have the originals..
