Are they all the same size? Or is there more than one diameter available ie different numbers of teeth?
Reason for asking is that I can't get a flex plate cover on as it seems to be touching the lower edge of the flexplate.
TIA
Paul
The 200-4R flexplate cover I got from Bowtie wouldn't fit. We ended up using the :smash: method to modify the old TH350 cover and :smash: to put it in place...
Hi Page,
I was hoping that there'd be an alternative to the :smash: method! Maybe a fat "gasket" between the cover & trans case? I'll see if I can get hold of some thick plastic to make one from. Or I could use some 1/2" ply (well, people use wooden spacers under the carb, why not?). If I can get the Bowtie cover to fit, would you want me to make one up for you????
Yes there is two differnt ones 153 tooth and 168 tooth flex plate.
Just remember that if you change the size of the flex plate from the original your starter won't match up without changing the front nose piece on your starter motor.
