I'm gonna replace my stock rear leaf spring with a fiberglass spring from Muskegon Brake. What rate do you guys recommend? My car has the SB and it's a ragtop. 315, 340 or 355?
Re: What rate rear spring should I install? (68ragtop)
How long should the venture take? Like install time? Probably a few hours if you know how to do it. Probably should get new links for the ends while you're at it. It can take a few days if you break the mounting holes on your differential cover as you'd need to replace it then. Personally, I'd go with the 340, not too rough, but still firm enough to help keep the car flat.

340. you will like the feel better. I agree.. replace the ends and it will probably take youabout 2-4 hours.. depending on if you read the instructions :flag
You should do it, then do the front as well!
Re: What rate rear spring should I install? (68ragtop)
You want a matched setup so generally you do not want to increase rear rate w/o increasing ft. rate as well.
The main thing in replacing spring is be careful!

Now that I've done the rear spring myself, I could probably swap it in/out in under an hour. It's not that hard at all.
I'm running a 360# spring, no complaints.

*edit* Agree very much with Ganey!(Is he ever wrong?) The jerks who work on my car installed 460s w/ my 300 lb rear spring. The switch to the 550s in the front made the car much sturdier/more balanced in the corner. Could open the throttle sooner.
