ok i read that this is supposed to store air so that i can work my headlights after the car is off, this does not work on my car, so i am wondering if i can remove it and plug the vacum lines directly into my headlights?
You may need to go through the troubleshooting procedure below for slow headlights. There are several components in the system that can cause problems and any of them can be repaired or replaced without much trouble. Even the relays can be rebuilt if you don't want to buy new ones. http://www.corvette-101.com/ Click on "Vacuum Trouble"
As for bypassing the vacuum canister.....shouldn't be a problem.

Re: headlight vacuum canister? (CWUin82)
If it is your headlight actuators, those are the easiest to rebuild. My reservoir is to blame for my problem I think. I am gonna try the tests listed on goinbrokes page and see if it may be my control valves that are leaking down.
