I know this slightly O/T, but it cuold apply to vettes also. I have a 2003 Avalanche that has some overspray that a outside contractor was using at work. He claims it's just enameal paint.
What is the best way to remove it. I was told to use qiuck evaporating reducer by the local supply house. I tried laquer thinner on a hidden spot and it worked better than the reducer.
I'm worried about just buffing a new truck.
Ant ideas?

Re: How do you remove overspray. (VolVette)
Here may be an oppertunity where a well waxed vehicle is an asset. If it has a good coat of wax on it you can use a Silicon &Wax Remover to remove the wax on the car and there by remove the overspray while you are at it. Jim
My first answer is a clay bar. I use Meguiars Clay Bar with Meguiars Quick Detail as the "lube" that should do the trick.
Using thinner has worked for me too. However it looks like (from the picture) that you have a custom paint job.....I would be real careful if you go this route.
And yes you could take all your wax off (and paint over spray) and start over.
Use a clay bar. I prefer using Clay Magic, which is found at Pep Boys. Be sure to keep the area lubricated with soapy water. This is the perfect time to clay the whole vehicle and break out the Zaino. You won't be sorry.
Thanks for the help. I do plan on sending him the bill from a detail shop. I just was interested in other ideas out side of what I thought of. I'll get a clay bar on see what the results are. I'm just being extra careful with new paint. Thanks again...
I spent about an hour using a clay bar (Clay Magic) on my pit bike, it is dark blue and was covered with some kind of white overspray, the paint felt like sandpaper, it took it off really quick, the only problem was getting the clay into some of the nooks and crannys. But I would highly recommend using the clay before any solvents.
kytown2 is correct. you can use any of the 3 methods. i worked my way through high school at a detail shop and we used all 3 methods to remove overspray. Try clay first (be very careful if your avalanche is a dark color - scratches), and go from there. No matter what you use, you'll probably want to put a fresh coat of wax on. Just be patient - removing overspray takes forever, but it can be done...

I used Mothers Clay bar and Detail to remove black over spray after painting the inside of the gills black. It worked great. After, I used a clay bar on the rest of the car.
