Default Build sheet...

Newbie Corvette owner question...

Where on the gas tank would the build sheet be? My vette is a '79.
Do I need to take out the spare tire? How do I get to it? What info would be on the build sheet that would not be elsewhere?

Don't laugh too hard! :lolg:  :lolg:

I'm learning... :D

It's really hard to reach if you have stock exhaust system since the build sheet is glued onto the top left front corner of the fuel tank. My vette had sidepipes retrofitted, so all I did was remove the spare tire and reach up around the spare tire carrier on the driver's side and there it was. Be VERY careful removing it, cause it will likely be brittle and will tear easily.

You will find all the options that were ordered from the factory by the dealer. The tank paper was glued to the fuel tank and then mounted as the next to last item to be installed onto the vette...the last would be the spare tire carrier.

I found mine a few years back by removing the rubber spill thingy from the filler and then having a child put their small hand in above the filler and remove it, mine however was little more than paper dust. HOWEVER, you will most likely find another (probably near perfect one) under the carpet on the passenger side, I did. Good luck. ;)

I didn't find mine until I removed the body. It was glued to the front of the tank.

I've never heard of one being there! Perhaps your vette was something special? Was the carpet maybe replaced by the dealer?
