Get flare wrenchs as the fitting is brass and will round off fast. It is 5/8" at both ends. Give the fuel pump a squirt of rust blaster to break up corrosion. Torque it too hard and the soft metal of the fuel pump twists. Or hold it with another wrench.
Hint - pull the fuel inlet line "S" hose and plug it with a 3/8" dowel and a hose clamp. When you pull the metal line to the carb the tank of the pump want to fill up again. Better yet, order yourself a new set of "S" hoses and replace them while under there. They are probably brittle.
