Bill ... VetteNut72 is the original poster with the 4X4s as reinforcements, you'll need to ask him. I (mdsmith) used a 2 ton chain hoist attached to reinforced roof trusses in my garage (didn't need 4X4 like VetteNet) with two 2000lb sling straps running under & across the entire width of the car. I actually left the body hanging up for over two weeks...worked great.
A hydraulic engine type lift will not raise the body high enough to roll the chassis out from underneath...especially if you leave the gas tank in place. If you'll take a look at the pics in my original post you can see how high the body needs to be lifted.
