Aftermarket hood attach
I'm fitting a L88 Hi rise Ecklers long hood on my 72. The fit is pretty decent, until I tighten the hinges, then it cants over at an angle. So I'm thinking the hinge surfaces are not flat. I'll take it back off the hinges and check that out closely.
Nest bothersome area is the actual hood latch pins. The instructions say to pull the spear off, which means breaking the jam nut loose from the assmbly. Problem is that the jam nut is under the spring. How is this done? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Another area to look at is the insulation foam on the hood sides that mates with the fender inner troughs. You are probably just torqueing one side and there is not the foam cushion to take up the uneven load.
