Default OUCH!! $33.00 heater hose block fitting

Has anyone heard of anything so ridiculous? Well... maybe not as I need a 1/2" NPT x 5/8" heater hose fitting(90 degree... that's the catch) and 2 out of 3 auto parts stores(NAPA, Autozone) opted out of supplying it even with their many catalogs for hard to find parts. O-Reillys will gladly get it to my local store with that $33.00 price tag. Everyone has straight fittings and I think Ecklers has a stock low profile 45 degree version, but I am shooting this over a dual feed gas line to the carb that makes that fit not possible. I can get 90 degree 3/4" heater hose fittings for almost nothing, but not 5/8". Summit & Jegs do not show it in their catalogs either.

Any suggestions? This is one of the last few things I have been holding out on hoping I could find it without paying a premium for something as simple sounding as that.

What about Russell or Earl's AN fittings? Do they have anything you can use?

That is funny! Not that you blocked them off... but, that I forgot about doing just that. I've got Russell aluminum plugs in two other places, so I guess a few more wouldn't hurt. It's not as if I ever plan on using the heater anyway. But, I've already got the new hoses run, so I will probably just buy the fitting(if it is the only choice) and go that route for now. I guess $33 in a $20,000 project is chicken feed, but at some time in these projects you have to wonder what turnip wagon you fell off of. :D
