Just put on a Holley 3310 with the Summit dual feed line/guage about a month ago,and the other day smelled gas.The fuel line was dripping onto the intake at the filter.I took the filter assembly apart, wrapped half a roll of teflon tape on it,and no more leak,or at least I thaught. A week or so later,I smell gas again. This time the guage itself is leaking, and so is my Edelbrock fuel pump.
I've been concidering an electric pump, but heard they're noisy and avoided them. Now I'm thinking with a leaking mechanical pump, why not?I would install a block off plate, and mount the pump somewhere near the tank, then life will be good.Make for an easier engine pull at least.
What is the general concenses of electric pumps for a street driven car.Do you like them,or not?If not I'll get a gasket set and rebuild the Edelbrock pump. :banghead:

Re: Yet another leak...........WTF! (The Money Pit)
I've had electric before and going back to mechanical. Electrics need a good regulator and relay wired to trip on low oil press (sorry, can't remember how). Also make noise requiring frame mounting.
Sound like some of your flare fittings aren't doing thier job - may hve been overtorqued (or undertorqued). As good flare fittings don't use any sealer/tape. Maybe replacing affected fittings and looking up/using the correct torque could be the fix. My torque wrenches are calibrated just for the peace of mind. :yesnod:
