Default What does this cable do?

Hi all,

Trying to figure out if this is the cause of my THM350 not downshifting on WOT.

It's the frayed cable in the pic that attaches near the carb & accel cable. The other end goes to some vaccum actuator, I think. There's plenty of slack in the cable.

Anyone know where I can find a replacement for this, or what this cable is called? Or even what it does? :-)

The other end attaches to this- I think it is a vaccum actuator or such:

Thanks!
Kaboom

Yep, the frayed cable is your cruise control. The other cable, the one closest to the valve cover is your transmission kickdown/down shift cable. Check that one for any loose or sloppy connections.

The best thing you can do with your cruise control is remove it! :yesnod:
After all, REAL sports cars don't have cruise...
