Default Checking in from overseas

Hello to my favorite forum! I actually have an account, but could not log on, so I set up a new one while over here in Iraq. Internet availability is spotty, but I couldn't resist saying hello. I look forward to gettiung back home to pick up where I left off in body and paint work. Lars was very helpful to me before I left. I have a new 6hp Craftsman compressor waiting for me...

I know how you feel wardog. This time last year, I was eating MREs in Kandahar, Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division, now I am retired. Keep your head down and your eyes and ears open. You'll be back and it will all be some kind of weird memory. Kandahar hardly seems real to me now!

Sigh, I missed out on going to Iraq a few days ago. I've been at Prince Sultan AB, KSA since Dec 6th and would have been going up near Basra for about a week to do a system install till we found out they didn't have all the equipment yet. :( On the bright side though, in about 2 weeks my replacement should get here and five days after he arrives I should be going home to California :D

Be safe up there :flag

Thanks for all the words of support. I was in Beirut in the early 80's, Somalia in the early 90's, now this. Must be about time to hang up the spurs and give the next one to you younger folks!
