Default Re: California Bound (74FLCONV)

Living or working in the area of financial district with a car would suck. We rented a car for 2 days last week there and left the city immediately. We asked for a mid-size car and the only thing they had was full size. We took a Deville with a 186 miles on the odometer. The hills are so steep that when we came to a stop all you could see was sky and hood. I would have to have a beater if I drove in that area often. Cars park 2 bumper to bumper and drive the hilly streets at twice the speed limit. I also found out that motorcycles can legally pass between cars. That's OK in the city when cars are stopped but one idiot did that on the freeway and some guy in a motor home freaked and was swerving all over the road. The biker was an idiot with a death wish. There was a report made to the police on the TV news last Friday about "People in fancy cars driving crazy". First thing I thought was RICE. I read yesterday that cross country race (Cannon ball run type thing) started last Thursday night in San Francisco a block away from our hotel. And I missed it! This illegal race is dangerous and shouldn't take place but I would have loved to see the cars. I did see a couple of exotics on the streets and wondered why they would bring a car like that downtown.
