i noticed that my 77 has been smoking at first i thought it was white but after playing with it all day i relize its a blueish gray. i pulled the plugs & the #2 cylinder is moist smells like gas not antifreeze the rest were carboned up (put new plugs in yesterday). now ive noticed that inside the rt tailpipe its wet. what could be causing this?? like i stated on a previous post the guy that i bought the car from had the motor rebuilt but its been sitting around for a couple of years just started every now & then to move the car in & out of the garage because we havent been able to finish resto yet.what should i do now? any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks
Did you notice any oil gathering around the spark plug threads? If so thats an indication of bad valve seals. Bad valve seals can lead to oily and fouled plugs. Blueish smoke is oil burning. Oil can be sucked down past bad seals and burnt in the cylinder. It also drips down thru the valve pocket and gathers around the plug threads.
its not to bad when i first start it, the longer it runs the worse it seems to get it puts out the most when i hit the throttle then it will clear up a little .but i did notice that there might have been some oil around the threads of the #2 plug. thanks again for any help !!!!
the interior is out so im not driving the car but no its worse when i hit the throttle like to clear it out then it will clear up a little but never go away completely. thanks again for any help
