Default Speedo not working...

I had the speedo on the 69 reworked over the winter... I also cleaned and lubed the cable as well. Last night I took it for a ride... first time since last Oct. Felt good to drive the old gal... anyway, while I was burfing down the main drag I noticed no speedo... Is it possible to have a striped drive gear in the tranny (M21)? Can it be replaced easily? :flag

On my Trans Am It's always been the cable. I'll get under the hood messing with something and end up kinking it without noticing and next time I take off . . . no speedo.

If it's reasonably simple to get to you could pull the cable out and check it. I know it's a lot easier to do that on the TA than it is to get to the tranny gear. No laying on my back or jacking the car up at least.

Not a problem getting the gear out. One screw holds the retaining clip, then remove the plastic gear.
