what's up with my VIN?
i used up my one free VIN on checking that '84 i am getting. but then i had a friend try my '79's number....and it said it was invalid. :confused:
there is no number on the dash, so i dunno what to make of it. it doesn't really matter too much to me, but i just found it interesting.

You might try calling your local DMV office and ask to speak with a supervisor. Tell him/her that you just wanted to make sure the title was all clear or something like that. We were able to get a simple Yes/No answer from DMV when we bought Greg's project car, which had been sold several times, changed states and owners and not registered for about 20 years. :eek: Of course, if you already own the car, then if there is a problem bringing to the the DMV's attention is a bit more risky. ;) ~Juliet
