Turn signal indicator being foolish
OK when I am driving at night and have the headlights on, the right turn signal lights up and stays lit. It will blink normally if I use the right turn signal. Is this my electrical system trying to tell me something? if so what?

Re: Turn signal indicator being foolish (Guru_4_hire)
I asked this question about a month ago. Mine is doing the exact same thing but I have as of yet to figure it out. I will subscribe to this thread to see if someone can help us out. If you get it figured let me know.
Re: Turn signal indicator being foolish (Guru_4_hire)
mine does that too, and my tach backlight doesn't work. I figured they were wired backwards or something cause the turnsignal light came on and not the tach light, but it blinks normally with the blinker so I decided that wasn't it... sometimes when I make a tight (high G) right turn at night the tach backlight comes on for an instant.
My 79 was doing crazy things too. I found a break in the solder runs on the flimsey printed ciruit board attached to the back. I fixed the open runs and haven't had any problems since

I have the same problem, however mine only does it sometimes at idle, and if you rev the engine it starts working. I'm almost certain its a bad ground at one of the lights, but I haven't taken the time to trouble shoot it yet.
Re: Turn signal indicator being foolish (stickboy)
check all of your grounds especially at the tail lights. you are getting a feed back of current from a bad ground to a good grounding circuit causing the light to light. wcj
