Default Trailing Arms bushing question... STAKING THE INNER>>>>

Hi all,
Has anyone installed their own T/A bushings? How did you stake (flare) the inner sleeve? I know where to buy the tool... but $58.00 for a tool that I will use once doesn't make sense.... ANY ideas on this would great. I don't have shops down here to do this... I am looking for a HOME REMEDY!!! THANKS :banghead:

If it's the Poly-bushing:
Here's what VB&P has to say on the subject. Worked for me :D

Their flaring tool is just a lognut..

I made a tool to flare the bushing sleeve. You have to compress the bushing while you're flaring the sleeve. Some guys use lug nuts and threaded rod to draw them together and flare. I took 2 pieces of 5/8" steel plate and drilled holes to bolt them together to hold the bushing. I tapped the center of the plates, which is centered on the bushing, for a 3/4"- 10 or 7/8"-9 thread- I'd have to check. Then I used the proper size allen head bolt turned to a 45* angle to flare it by screwing down on the sleeve. I made another 45* to use on the bottom plate to support the established flare. I used a pipe to get leverage to compress the sleeve.
