Re: Somebody Quick before I Snap a bolt?????? (8T1-7T9 BIONIC VETTE)
The way I have removed them is using a breaker bar and the engine's starter. Believe it or not it 's an old trick. :yesnod:
Remember the direction of engine rotation is clockwise from the front. Put a breaker bar on the bolt, and leave the handle of the bar about an inch or so from the frame or something solid.
Pull power off the ign coil and bump the starter. It will come off. Or if you have a flywheel tool you can wedge it in there by the flywheel and armwrestle it up top. But the starter will loosen it for you. What you need is that one quick jerk - just like an impact wrench does.

Thanks Paul......
I have the engine out on an engine stand.....everything is off the engine except the crank...and the cam.
Pulling the Beck Racing 383 Max Velocity Plus Engine apart...appears the only good stuff left in there is the block.....the rest is trashed.....
The oil pick up broke off and there was no oil to the engine....hence zero pressure....It didn't run long like this since I stopped running the engine as soon as pressure went to zero.....however I don't trust anything in there....the oil pickup was welded on.....It broke right at the weld point....then I guess the crank caught it and mangle it from the support bracket....hence the noise I heard....I may bore out to .40 over and go with all forged rotating assembly......Thanks again for the tip... :flag :seeya Cappy
