Default Are all SBC timing tabs the same?

The timing tab on my '77 Camaro (305 CID) is MIA. Is this a "one size fits all SBCs" item or what?

No thay are not all the same. The timing tab must match the balancer diameter and different year balancers had different keyway locations so the tab must be for the correct keyway location also.

They also mounted in different locations around the damper. Joe

Just find TDC on #1 on the compression stroke, spot the mark on your dampner and install a timing tab that aligns with the dampner. Or make your own mark on the dampner to align with one of the aftermarket tabs that sits on the drivers side of the timing cover.
