My drivers side creaks very little but my passenger side t-top creaks badly.
I've bought from 3 different vendors and changed the present set of t-top weatherstrip twice(picked up a 2nd set of t-tops).Still have the same result.
Would going with the GM repro's $$$ help?
Hi Joe
Your problem probably isn't the weatherstrip but the adjustment of the T-Tops. If you remove the interior pad you will see that there are shims under the two pins that go into the center bar. By removing a shim you will tighten up this area. Also by turning the adjustments on the flip down locks you can tighten up that area also. You should also check the three pointed pin on the sail panel section to make sure the top sits correctly on it. Even with all these adjustments made you will still probably get some movement and squeaks especially when the weather changes. These cars just don't have the rigidity in the chassis that new cars have and they will move around on the frame as you drive. No big deal, just get louder exhaust or a bigger stereo.
Thanks Al.
It's funny.
My original set had bad stainless trim so I bought a set off a friend.
The original set creaked alittle bit on highway driving. The other set passenger side is quiet on the highway and noisy around town.
The front corner is the problem area.
Will try what you say.
Do you have the nylon inserts in the front outer corners? Mine didn't and I ordered them from Ecklers and some of the creaking went away. They go in where the outer t-top post sticks in.
Do your t-top locks have rubber ends on the adjuster nuts?
If your anser is no to both of these then try them, they should help.

Yes to both questions.
With the noise coming mostly from that area I'm going to try some good old Duct tape on the t-top pins to cushion.
I have used di-electric grease to quiet rub spots since it's silicone, clear and water proof. Good luck! nuthin' worse than a squeek or a rattle
Jim
Jim,I used that expensive Krytox and still have the problem.

Must not have got that done in '89 cuz my Formula is a real squeaker esp in winter. My first year with car but it drives me  ! I used some dry graphite mold sheild from work and it helped but I think I'll try the grease.
