I just bought a 76 for my wife and it needs some suspension work- the rear seems really sloppy. The spring looks like its a one piece composite. The spring however, has almost no arc. Is this normal for a composite? do these thinks wear out like the regular leaf springs?
ok- I guess the problem is not with the spring since they dont wear out. But there is definitely a problem. the exhaust pipes just before the mufflers are partially flattened - looks like someone bottomed out. maybe bad shocks?
Composite springs are almost flat  but they do have a better spring rate than stock :) I would keep the composite. The shocks could be worn  or it could be someone's driving. They could have bottomed out somewhere. I know the existing stock exhaust is boxed were it passes by the rear diff. good luck

Thats good to know. I just assumed that they had been squished when someone bottomed out- I will have to take a closer look when I get home.
BTW, Sleper, nice car- but where are your lights? Do you only drive during the day? either way, it looks good.
