QUICK!!! Difference between 78-80 and 81 red interior color
A few catalogues I have list 78-81 the same red, and then 82 as dark red. But I just went to order carpet from Zip and found that they list 81 as a seperate color red. Now I'm scared because the seats I bought a while ago MIGHT have been from an 81- I thought they looked a little lighter in color but figured it might just be the fact that they are brand new and my interior was 24 years old. I don't care about originality, I just want the carpet to match the seats. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i checked a couple of my books, and they too listed 77-81 as being the same red, and 82 as a different darker red
EDIT:
forget that, i just checked some more mags, and some others listed 77-80 as the same red, and 81-82 as the same. i'll check some others.

Houston, we have a problem. The seats I bought are probably out of an 81'. According to that color chart, they would be the same as the seats of a 79'. However, I can put them side by side and they are clearly different. But they are definently not out of an 82, because they arn't darker, they're lighter. They look like they're 68-72 red.
Also, how is it that Zip has decided that 81' had it's own red?? I'm going to make some phone calls in the morning... Thanks for the help guys, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I called Zip this morning and asked them to compare 80' and 81 carpet. The guy did it and told me that they are almost the same (probably the reason for some companies listing them as the same), but the 81' is a little BRIGHTER. Therefore, any mag that says 81' is the same is 82' is full of crap, because 82' is the darkest red. Not only that, but that color chart is wrong, and needs to be changed. 81' should be a shade lighter than 80', not a shade darker.
I ordered the 81' carpet to match my seats, and I'll paint the rest to match (I was going to put a coat of paint on all plastic parts anyway).
