Default Definitive muffler flow analysis?

I looked for this in the archives. The only flow analysis I could find was one that didn't have any Hooker muffs on it. Posts suspected it was put out by Dynomax as they were at the top of the flow chart.

Reason I'm looking for this is I'm thinking of changing to something louder, maybe the Race Magnums. I don't know I'm having fun unless I hear loud noises. :yesnod: Plus, I have no radio.

Hope you find it. I'll be watchin' this post along w/you. I'm one of the "chambered pipe" crowd, that has a hard time believin' that chambered pipes are more restrictive than mufflered systems......Good Luck!

I currently have Hooker Max flows on my car. They rock! They are a straight throught design and sound great. My boss has Hooker Aerochambers on his 67 Barracuda, and they sound just as good. The are alot cheaper than Flowmasters, which was another consideration. Sine they are painted black the look good under the rear of a C3. Let me know if you have any questions.

I copied this from a post some time last year. It's the flow ratings in CFM. I don't claim to know the source or if it's accurate.

OEM..................................... ........................................ ...225

The formula for required exhaust flow is: horsepower times 2.2.
So if your car makes 400 hp, you will need a total of 880 cfm muffler capacity for an unrestrictive exhaust system. So for dual exhaust, you would need mufflers that flow 440 cfm.
For reference, a 2.5 inch diameter pipe flows ~500 cfm. Adding non-mandrel bends will lessen that amount.

I saw this on one of my searches and noticed no Hookers.
