I'm not an expert with the paint thing. Did rough paint jobs on my everyday vehicles when needed, but I don't trust myself to do class job on the vette. My baby needs some paint attention in a few small areas. Instead of breaking out the big boy and possibly screwing it up...what about using an airbrush. I bought one 5 years ago for small woodworking projects (seems to work OK with thin coatings) and thought it might be beneficial for a touch-up job on the vette. Anybody use these?
The Infiniti dealer my wife got her car at uses an airbrush to "fix/fill" rock chips (smaller ones). The chip is still there, but not nearly as noticable and it won't rust as fast (not that that matters on the vette...)
If you feather the paint chips with fine sandpaper so that the sharp edges don't show, I don't see where you would have any problem. It operates with the same principle just smaller volume.
Make sure your hand is moving when you press the button so that you don't get that parbell effect. You probably already know that however.
