Shouldn't it also have a black anodized steering wheel? The only thing from an '80 on that car is the rear bumper.

I agree about the bumper comment, but my steering wheel is silver too.

I got pictures of the underside of the car from the owner.

It has a 1980 and newer transmission crossmember in it, but I was un-able to see any of the rear end housing from any of the pictures he sent.

The plot thickens.

Nope, that's a 1980 rear bumper. The spoiler is integrated and it has the "flatter" taillights of the 80-82 models.

I could be very wrong, but that looks like a tach from a '79 L82. The flags aren't the "straighter" ones of 1980, and I can barely make out an L82 logo (I think).

Yeah, that's a 1979 with the optional spoilers, not an 80. My Corvette book indicated that there was an optional "extra cost" spoiler package for the 79 models, so it's not a 1980 rear...just the spoiler package...
No, that is a 1980 rear end. The 1979 optional spoiler package is a glue / bolt on job that fits on to the 1978-79 rear and is the same thing as the 1978 Pace Car spoilers.

No doubt this car has more of a fishy smell than a tuna boat.

All in all the damn thing sold for 13,600 sight un-seen and very iffy. I sent the buyer a link to this thread, I just hope they know what they are getting into.

And 13,600 is high for a 1980 or 1979 in my book. I bought my ALL ORIGINAL 1980 with numbers matching engine and transmission and in MUCH better shape and way more original condition than that for 12,500.

All I know is that when I go to sell mine, I am putting it on E-Bay. If that THING went for 13,600 mine should bring 14,500 easily and then some.
