Default More 383 Pics

Here are some more pics of the 383 on its way.
We had to go with a different intake than my original
plan of the Performer. The intake ports are too tall
on the heads for it and we changed to a Weiand 8004.
The last shot is where it should be tomorrow or Monday for
it's maiden voyage:cheers::D

Look'n good. :thumbs: Now I have to get a pair of those valve covers. Who has the best price? Also I like that thermostate housing too and where do I buy one of those? Any part numbers?
I don't understand why a performers intake ports could be too low? What kind of heads are they? :chevy

Very pretty :cool:

I'm running that same oil pan on my big block. What heads are those? Does the ratchet on the balancer bolt add any horsepower :jester

Cardo, I bought them from Bairs about a year ago, I think they they cost $110.00. The therm housing is a stock GM unit from Zips but I had it ceramic coated like JetHot does to headers. I also had my performer intake done that way but I couldn't use( I'll probably be selling it). The performer aren't tall enough, I think the heads have 200cc runners and this could be why.

bence, the heads ar Pro-Top Line. I think once we dyno it the ratchet will produce about a 10% increase in torque:D

Shark, the cover are stock Corvette from the late 70's/80's, I just liked the look but that's how they came:cheers:

Your going to have a blast! Wait, maybe blast is not a good word for someone off to the dyno! I meant to say, it's going to be great! Take your camcorder and borrow one from a friend! One in the test bay and one on the meters! Also take a tripod, I forgot mine. I did mine a week ago Tuesday it is such a RUSH! I only pulled to 6300, man I never knew what 6300 was until I stood by it in a closed room ! :D I mean I know, but I didn't know, oh well you will know :chevy

Oh well best of luck, dream of big numbers and a trouble free test.
May the power of :chevy be with you!
