Default could ignition problems be fuel?

guys, you have probably seen my posts on my car missing at hi revs, and tonight, i was cruising about 3k...and when i went wot, it wouldnt go! it just sort of sputtered and stuff.

what the heck is this, its killing me, i got to where i was goin, and checked the filter, its a clear type, and it was only about 1/4 full, and when i revved the motor, it didnt go up much at all, sorta like the pump is not doin its job.
checked for kinks and found none.

WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS???

im going nuts tryin to find this miss. i sorta think its more fuel related than ignition now, but im still not sure

i have 77f and 88r jets in my speed demon carb (stock), also, its a slightly modified 350,

please help!

Put a T at the carb and hook it to a fuel pressure gauge. Tape it to windshield. Test drive WOT. Report your findings here.

I don't know about Demons but Q-jets have a small filter in the inlet of the carb.. Check that one. If in doubt leave it out and try it. Also fuel pumps CAN get weak althought they usually just quit. There are a few other things that can cause your symtoms but you need to check all of the basics first. Make sure the advance wieghts work freely. the timing and make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.

its a stock fuel pump, but everyone says that should be enough to push what i am pushing....

could the ignition module be the source of the problem??

How modified is the motor? 77F&88R Man thats of fuel going into a 350. I am running a holley 650 D/P with 69F&72R in my 327 Drag Car .I bet if you dropped a couple jet sizes your car would respond better.

SharkBit...if you have jets that big and your plugs show lean you might wanna check for a vaccum leak. I've been through that drill before...

hmm, i think my brake booster may be is leaking?

it hisses around it, but the pedal works like normal....could this be the culprit?

maybe unhook booster, plug line and drive it for a while?

not sure i'd drive the car with the booster disconnected. Try finding the area that's hissing and spray some carb cleaner around the area while the car is running. Listen for the idle to noticably change when you spray it. If it changes you've found the your leak. Spray a little around the base of the carb and wherer the heads and intake manifold are joined too ...happy hunting

ive done that before, carb is good, heads and manifold are also, if i sprayed around the booster would it do the same? it should shouldnt it?

the jets are stock from demon....

also, it has a lot more airflow than a holley....i was just assuming that it would take more fuel to equal more airflow??
