electric or mech speedo(autometer)
im getting ready to buy my autometer ( ultra-lite ) speedo & tach for my 77. should i buy electric or mech? which is the easiest to hook up ? thanks

mech is easiest to jook up. For electrical you need a VSS. There are VSS's available that are cable driven, it could be used if you run a cable to the transducer, then put the VSS in between the transducer and the cable, leave off the cable from transducer to the stock speedo and install the electronic speedo, run off the VSS.
If you have a 700R4 you could get the pulse generator/VSS from an 84+ model (they use electr. no cable drive like on 82)
