I could use some help.....
Can soem of you 68-72 convertible owners post some good pics of the rear quarter trim and it's mounting hardware as installed. My 69 din't have an interior in it when I got it so I've put it together with the assembly manual and other stuff but there seems to be very little info on these. In particular I could use some views/closeups of the top of teh door jam from the outside and all along the edge where the metal support is screwed to the trim piece and the lower edge near the seat back hinge area. If you can do a few different angles it would be much appreiciated. :chevy
Here are the pics of the things I could use pics of:

Hi Mark, what happened there? The parts are referred to as "Quarter Trim Moldings". That are the vinyl covered pieces that run down the door jam on the interior, on convertibles they cover the hinge mechanism of the soft top and run down to the floor area. I'm going to get some pic's of what I'm talking about and post it shortly. I have installed my drivers side but it doesn't fit correctly and I need to "massage" the fiberglass to get them to fit correctly and I would like to know how the are supposed to look before I start grinding away at it
They're a real PIA to put on, and fit poorly at best from the factory. From your pix, you've got it right. The metal pieces are held on by machine screws that screw into the thread inserts in the quarter trim pieces. Often times, these thread inserts are stripped or missing. They can be replaced. Many of the catalogs sell them. You can also go to the hardware store and buy inserts and epoxy them in. You really can't go "grinding" on the quarter trim panel, as it is vinyl covered over the fiberglass/plastic backing. You'll grind away the vinyl covering. :) There is also one chrome trim screw that goes on the inside at the very bottom. That screw goes into a bracket with a J nut gizmo on it. Chuck

Chuck, I wasn't thinking of grinding on the molding, it was the fiberglass of the door jam where it mounts. If you look at Zach's picture of the upper area where the smaller metal bracket is you don't see the fiber glass and the molding seems to fit over the fiberglass at that point. On my 69 they built up the fiberglass in that area, so from Zach's pictures I need to make my molding come down so the slots along the jam line up with the holes in the bracket and not line up the bracket to the molding.
Zach, Thanks these are exactly what I needed. I saved them so I'll be able to print them as 8x10's for reference.
