Re: what size electric fan (Randexter)
If your not having any problems with cooling now, and don't live in an area that sees temps into 3 digits I would go for the Flex-lite dual fans. They run about $180 - $210 brand new. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=FLX%2D320
I had them on my 1980 and they worked just fine until the Phoenix heat got over 110 degrees and I tried to run the A/C.
I bought my dual Spals from Dewitts - they sell the complete package (dual fans, relaus, wiring, etc.).

Re: what size electric fan (pws69)
I bought mine from DeWitts also. Pretty pricey though. But now it only ever gets up to about 195 and never any hotter. Running down the road it sets on the thermostat at 185 and doesn`t budge. The base engine in our car has the same radiator setup in it that the midyear big blocks had. If it will cool a 396 or 427 it will surely cool a 350.
You might try using 90-96 Corvette Duel Fans. All GM. You can find them at swap meets, although it's turned into enough of a good modifications that we have found fewer of them available for the past year or more. Just make sure the shroud is in good shape, and plan on replacing the fan motors. The Chevy parts counter will have them.
If you ever decide to increase HP, you will have your cooling system ready for it.

I just installed an electric fan from a late 80 trans am. Bought the wiring from Dewitts with the thermo switch. Works very well and cost total, 41.00 wiring 20.00 for the fan (junk yard).
A single 16" PernaCool fan does the job on a non-radical Vette...
I have a pretty radical engine in my 68'.. so I use triple electric fans (dual Flex-a-Lites and a 16" Permacool fan). The Permacool fan is permanently on and the Flex-a-lites are switchable.. I didn't run them through a thermostat because I want to be able to turn them off at the Drag Strip so that they don't take away energy from the ignition...
I'm going with the single 16" that Olivier (GrandSportC3) has on the rear of his radiator - in my stock L48.
It barely hits 100F around here all summer. I'm sure it will be fine.
One point that should be noted is the SPALS flow 2780 cfm and the FlexOLite are about a 1000 cfm less and draw more current. The $100 difference seems to be worth it.

And the single 16" Permacool flows 3,000cfm.
I have a single 16" puller fan that is rated at 3100cfm.....i am sure that in the real world it is less efficient than that, but attached to a very large aluminium rad,it keeps my 383 very cool with absolutely no shrouding at all...the lack of shrouding neatens up the underhood area and makes access a lot easier,..john :chevy

Here's a pic of the duals on the LT1 radiator. This is a great fit due to the core size. I think one of the things that get missed with our fan kits is the fact you do not have to buy any "Brackets". The Be-cool package looks better initially but you have to invest another $125 to get all the brackets, which I might add are not the most attractive. This total package is normally $395, on sale to forum members for $344. It is a "direct fit" to all stock GM copper radiator from 69-82 and also fits our "direct fit" aluminum radiators and Griffin.
