Improving headlight Response?
For the record, I hate the vac headlights! Until I can replace them w/recessed non pop up headlights, I am stuck w/them. They used to work OK. Now they come up w/help but quick to lower. Is there anything I can do w/WD40 that can help. I don't want to start replacing parts, too cheap for that. How can I diagnose what the problem is? TIA

It may be as simple as replacing the rubber witches hat in the actuators. That is not too bad of a job and one witches hat costs about $8.

I saw something in one of my street rod magazines that really looked interesting and I think someone posted about them a few months ago. They are linear motors that are used to lift trunks, hoods and front ends on street rods. I think they come in 4 inch to 10 inch units. I'm thinking that they could be used in place of the vacuum motors and be much less hassel. I never liked the looks of the fixed lights on C3s so this may be an alternative.
