Seatbelts
I've got a question about seatbelts, although they're not for a 'Vette, they're for my friends '66 Mustang convertible. He had the windshield replaced, and the heavyset guy who was installing it punched through one of the floorboords when he stood up. Obvioiusly my friend needs to get new floorboards welded in now (he's doing it on both sides, the drivers side has rust on it too). My question is, because this car never had seatbelts, is now the appropriate time to install them-because, i think we can only mount them to the floorboard, and since the shop that'll be welding them in, can't they also install the mounting points? I'm hoping I can convince him (he's a resto freak, and didn't want to cut the carpet to install them earlier) that since the carpet must come out for the welding, the seatbelts can just be bolted to the new floorboards, correct? Thanks :seeya

I kinda sure that any car built after 1964 had seatbelts already. Are you sure it doesn't? If Not, then yes now would be the perfect time to install them.
