We started this garage project last fall. The only things missing are the 4 other old movie posters to be added to the ceiling, a few more Corvette pictures for the walls and the jukebox. The posters are in the mail and the Jukebox is in the house at present. But we really like how it turned out.

For those that want to know, the floor is vinyl tile bought at home depot for .29 cents a sq. ft.(1 tile). depending on how you lay the tile you can have either 12 in. squares or the smaller look we used. we swept and vacuumed the floor first. Then we wiped small areas (maybe 3x3) with acetone to get rid of anything else, let dry and then laid the tile. Had problems with maybe 6 tiles, put a small amout of liquid nail that fixed the problem. The freeze joints? were hand painted black and white to make it look like the tiles went down the joints, Man, is a garage floor cold in December.

The neon Corvette sign was made by a place called neon express here in town.(if you're interested in one email me and I'll give you their number) It was last years xmas to my husband. existing posters on ceiling are The Attack of the 50ft Woman, The Mummy, American Graffiti, High rolling in a Hot Corvette, and a smaller one of The Blob We are waiting for Easy Rider, War of the Worlds, The Blues Brothers, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. We are still looking for Corvette Summer but haven't found it yet. yea I know we have a Disco Ball, :lol: but we thought it would be hilarious and my brother found it at a bar that went out of business.

Some of our friends own corvettes so when they come over we ask them to write the year corvette they own when they sign the garage door. you can see a couple signature in one of the pictures

Please don't start a competition for the worst garage, I *KNOW* I would win and I really don't want to win that kind of competition! Lets just say that my garage is very low, not finished, extremely messy (tools and junk laying here and there and everywhere), and getting very full. :eek:

Oh what AM I complaining about: 2 years ago I didn't have a garage. I had a dock, but no garage :nonod:

 

I really like your cabinet idea. I'l probably go with cheaper 3-shelf white formica cabinets which would really clean up my 3-car garage as it sits today. Also, I have some old C3 parts that I need to part ways with soon that should open up room along the sides. I'll probably just go with a gray floor as re-sale value/marriage could be a problem if I surprised the wife with checkered flag tile... checkered flag is MY dream floor! Looks great!!!

Are yoy going to have a lift?

 

We've thought about a lift but I think that would involve raising the ceiling. but then we could have 3 vettes instead of 2. (to dream the impossible dream) :D

 

No matter how big the garage is, you will always fill it up and need more room. Take my garage, above, it is a 3 car garage, but as you can see it has 4 cars in it. And the truck has to sit outside :(
