How do you like the 50s? I have been thinking of changing mufflers on mine. I have 2 1/2 in. all the way to the stock style mufflers. They sound pretty good while idling and while getting on it but just go away while cruising down the road. I think I am looking for a little more noise.

I'll tell you Saturday afternoon :D . I've been told that the 50's are the way to go, Great sound and last a long time. I'm going with 21/4", I don't have the HP for 21/2".

I had stock mufflers also, and they were too quiet. I don't like a LOT of noise (but I do like it to be heard), but wanted the thing to breath so I decided on 2 1/2 into DeltaFlow 50's - the sound is purfect for me!! Nice low rumble at idle, smooth mellow tone at cruise, very healthy and throaty when I summon the demons! I believe the X-Pipe also helped a lot to mellow them out and eliminate the droning.

:iagree: The 50s are perfect for me. I am using the stock 72 tips but they have been modified. I had them remove the 2 inch coupler on the stock tip and weld in a 2 1/2 coupler. You would never know it is not stock.

Does anyone know which is louder, Flowmaster 50's or Dynomax super turbo's?
According to the chart on corvettefaq, the Dyno's are supposed to flow a little more (410cfm vs 362)

I have Dyno Super Turbos on my 72 with tha base sb 350. Sounds good, but I wish I had put on Flowmasters . . . that muscle car sound is hard to beat. The instaler talked me out of Flowmasters . . .too loud . . .too much interior noise!!
Next time

OK, i have a confession to make... I have a 68 so you probably wouldnt want to use these tips anyway, but i ordered a pair of 2 1/2" round slant cut tips from JC Whitney. They actually would have been great except they start at 2 1/2" and then widen out to 3", which is a bit too wide.... they look a little ricey to me. The stock tips are only 2" :) MJ
